Strange times

Covid-19 update

As the coronavirus outbreak continues, Halvorsen Architects’ thoughts are with our customers and friends at this challenging time. We recognise that you have many priorities, but we want you to know that we are still operating. The safety and well-being of our community is our highest priority right now and we are closely following government advice to make the best decisions for our colleagues, customers, suppliers and partners. At the moment, our office is open. We are still designing, submitting planning applications and building warrants. We are also holding meetings via Skype and making essential site visits with minimum personnel, following the government’s guidelines. Thank you for your continued support and we will update this message as things change.

This is my message on our homepage. I have just returned from what I suspect may be my last site visit. The builders had already vacated the site and I kept my distance from the person allowing me entry. It’s a strange and slightly eerie feeling seeing no one at work.

Planning and building standards departments are understandably asking for an additional four weeks to the statutory six for assessing applications.

Keep well and safe.
