This project was for a client for an extension to and remodelling of house, Bristol that I had worked for in London. He had a similar situation in Bristol – a Victorian house that was too dark and pokey for his liking and an unused attic. In this case planning permission was not required as the extension was done within permitted development. In fact the size and shape of the extension were dictated by the guidelines within permitted development – pushing all dimensions to the limit. That meant we could wrap the attic extension around the side of the hip roof, considerably enlarging the new floor area.
There are a lot of windows in every direction letting light in at all times of the day. There is also a panel of floor glazing in top bedroom / office floor lighting up the otherwise dark first floor landing beneath.
Thees images have been taken before the LED lighting was installed. Further photos to be published soon.
